Finding that perfect home that has everything you want and more in your budget is not easy. However, it is not impossible.
Sometimes we need to think a little outside the box, but a home that feels right and has the power to relax you can make you feel as if you are at home is within your reach. All you have to do is go out there with an open mind and look for it. To help you find that perfect home, here are a few ideas:
List Your Preferences
Homes are all different. There is so much variety out there that, if you look hard enough, there will be something that suits you. However, there is far more to it than just a nice house. You need to consider the location, the amenities, the house itself, and whether or not you can actually see yourself there. To help narrow your search, you should list things that a house must have and also list must not haves, then create a nice-to-have but not a deal killer. Must haves could be things like must be near a school, or a large garden, a pool, room to extend, etc. The more you can list, the better, as it can help focus your thinking. There is no point showing to seeing one-bed flats if you want a five-bedroomed detached house.
Flexibility
When it comes to looking at houses, you need to have an element of flexibility. Although you may have a long list of must-haves, sometime you may not be able to get them all. It may make sense to list these in order of need. You have to be realistic in terms of your budget. It is not always feasible to get it all, so be aware of that. Remember to overlook things like decor and cleanliness. Although this may be difficult us some houses, you have to learn how to eliminate this from your mind and look for potential. If you can do this well, you stand a better chance of finding that perfect home.
Do a Lot of Looking
You need to see a lot of houses within your budget to find that dream home. First, you need to get a feel of what the houses are like in your budget range to understand whether or not you can feasibly get all ur must-haves. You should widen your search radius out as far as possible to ensure that you are not missing any gems. The areas you are looking in may be more expensive and just down the road, you may find something far more suitable to your needs. Try and see at least two or three a week, maybe more. Look online as often as possible. Set up alerts and get new properties emailed to you. Sign up with a lot of different agencies like zoom property and contact them often. If you develop a good rapport, you may get inside information on how much you can offer. The more you see, the more likely it is that you will find that dream home.
