I know, I know, the title of this article screams CRUNCHY mom, but you will all wear the crunchy badge once you try this bug deterring concoction on your next camping trip.
This bug spray is baby friendly, smells nice, non-sticky, and keeps more than mosquitoes away.

We even tested it for you on a campsite that was right next to a creek that we stayed at for three nights. We didn’t get one bite. Not. One.

So, let’s just get to it.
You will need:
- One 4 oz Spray bottle (just grab one at Walmart for $1 or buy a pack on Amazon)
- Water (from the tap, nothing fancy)
- Witch Hazel (Any brand works fine)
- 5 drops of Grapefruit Oil (repels ticks)
- 10 drops of Citronella (repels mosquitoes)
- 5 drops of Peppermint (repels mosquitoes)
- 10 drops of Tea Tree (repels fleas)

Fill the bottle with a 1:1 ratio of water and witch hazel. If you want to be exact, do 2 oz of water and 2 oz of witch hazel. Then drop the indicated amount of drops listed above into the bottle. Screw lid, shake and spray! It’s that easy!
We use this spray whenever were outside in the evenings too, we live in an area dense with mosquitoes so we’re always on guard… but we are planning another camping trip here in a week, and I’m excited to try this again to the max!
I hope this works for you, your family and littles.
